The conventional winding process can be described as the classic method for producing elastic yarns. Today, the Fein-Elast Group owns more than three hundred state-of-the-art winding machines and uses them to produce single and double covered yarns. The elastane, which is stretched by a constant factor, is fed through a hollow spindle and wound with the covering yarn on a disk bobbin. The defined parameters of the stretching as well as the twists per metre and the selected wrapping yarn determine the character, in particular elongation, elasticity and appearance of the wrapping yarn. All known filament, staple and high-tech yarns with an elastic core made of elastane or rubber are used.
Our covered yarns are mainly used in the fashion sector, such as fine hosiery, body and seamless, in which they give the end product transparency, extraordinary durability and a smooth look with a touch of luxury.
