Conductive / dissipative

On the one hand, the conductivity or dissipative function of yarns is a safety function that is used in many areas. On the other hand, it enables an application in areas where, up to now, either other materials (e.g. metal cables) have been used or where there was no suitable solution. Conductive yarns, for example, have become indispensable for sensor technology in garments through their use as sewing yarns. They are the basis for smart textiles in sportswear and workwear, in the health sector, in fashion and in home textiles. Conductive and dissipative yarns are also being used more and more in industry. For example, conductive yarns are increasingly being used in cables instead of metal cores because they are much more pliable and flexible. The automotive industry uses this option for various applications. These special yarns are also used for the production of actuators, sensors and textile conductors.
